While some expressed that globalization would increase the welfare of the world, and the differences between developed and developing countries, others expressed the same concept as the modern approach of colonialism and the destruction of history. While there are positive approaches on the concept of globalization, on the other hand there are negative approaches that criticize this process in a very violent way. Istanbul is a rapidly developing city. Istanbul, which has started to become more and more westernized in recent years, has even begun to separate in itself. The city became a place where you could get chewing gum from the local neighborhood grocery while you are shopping from a foreign luxury shop on the side street, and things started to get a little mixed up. Despite all of it's past, the people of this city, which is losing its identity due to the influence of globalization, is in the same dilemma. Is Istanbul still a city that has witnessed many historic cases as our ancestors have told us, or has it given up from its locality and its rooted culture?
